Where to Buy Issey Miyake Perfumes?

The Japanese designer, Issey Miyake was born in 1938, in Hiroshima. He first studied graphical arts at Tama Art University in Tokyo. He later made the decision to attend the Ecole de la Chambre Syndicale de la Couture Parisienne in order to study fashion design.

Miyake opened his own Tokyo design studio in 1970. It was there that he experimented with a variety of design techniques. He has used this studio to develop natural fabrics and designs including even designing costumes.

Change and movement are the points around which the Miyake design sensibility revolves. The cloths are displayed as art and appear absolutely geometric and static. They were thus presented last year at the Making Things exhibition at the Fondation Cartier pour l'Art Contemporain in Paris. The clothes have a precise appearance. They take on volume and mobility once they are worn, acting as if they were living sculptures.
