Working from the simple beginnings of a jar of skin cream, in 1946, Estée Lauder initiated her company. The skin cream had been developed by her uncle who was a chemist and who shared her goal of bringing forth that which is beautiful in women. These early attempts at facial cream where attracting loyal customers even before labels had been devised. In 1953 the ground-breaking fragrance Youth-Dew was introduced into the market. By this time the Estée Lauder Company was already known to be a company with an outstanding reputation for innovation, quality and research.
By 1960 Estée Lauder had set up her first customer account outside of the continental United States by establishing a marketing relationship with Harrods in London.
When you see the company’s collection of skincare products, makeups and fragrances you know that Estée Lauder reflects the very finest that can be achieved by art and science.
